Eye drops containing Boric Acid

So, you’ve seen all the Slime recipes on the Internet and YouTube, and you’re in the UK and you can’t find Boric Acid? Well fear not, even though on my FAQ page it states the UK and EU have banned Boric acid, I found some eye drops which contain Boric Acid today in Home Bargains for 89p a bottle.

I’ve yet to try this properly, but if you have tried this in any recipes, please let me know your results!

  1. The boric acid must’ve been removed neither of HB’s eye drops contain it so this doesn’t work 😩👎👎👎

  2. Hi Samantha, thanks for letting us all know, it’s good to know it no longer works. We’ve successfully tried Biotrue multi purpose solution and can confirm it works as an activator with PVA glue. We bought the travel pack from Boots to test as it was cheaper than the lager 300ml pack, now we’ve run out we’ll be buying the larger bottle which I believe is the 300ml pack. The 300ml pack from Amazon is quite a but cheaper than the same from Boots. At time of writing it’s £8.36 on Amazon prime compared with Boots who are selling for £12.29!

    Happy Slime making!
